Our client: is looking for a Senior Procurement Manager who will be responsible for directing procurement operations and developing strategies within the organization for Direct Materials (including Food Ingredients and Packaging) and External Manufactured products (private label). This role entails overseeing the procurement team throughout the source-to-pay cycle, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. They will take the lead in ensuring compliance with procurement policies, negotiating contracts, and enhancing procurement processes to align with organizational goals. Attention to detail, effective communication abilities, and the capacity to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment are essential for success in this position.

The role: Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with the company’s operational needs and financial objectives. Lead the implementation of procurement best practices and procedures to streamline operations and enhance efficiency. Analyze and present comprehensive reports on procurement performance, cost savings, and key metrics to management. Monitor supplier performance and product quality, promptly addressing any issues or concerns. Utilize market analysis to make informed procurement decisions, considering trends, pricing, and supply chain risks. Support budgeting and forecasting by providing insights into product prices to support business strategies. Regularly survey the product market to identify potential new suppliers or innovative products. Initiate, execute, and report on cost-saving projects through negotiations, vendor development, and value engineering. Ensure compliance with reporting governance as a trading partner, reconciling commitments with suppliers and internal users monthly. Negotiate extended credit terms and minimize advance payment requirements to optimize working capital. Prevent inefficiency costs by ensuring timely and accurate documentation, avoiding detention, demurrage, and damages. Maintain visibility across the value chain, providing timely warnings regarding upcoming orders. Collaborate with project teams to ensure on-time New Product Launches by identifying reliable suppliers and tracking project timelines and budgets closely. Engage with internal stakeholders to understand and fulfill their procurement needs and requirements. Enforce compliance with company procurement policies across the team. Facilitate seamless communication and collaboration between the procurement team and other departments. Lead the team in achieving the company’s procurement strategic objectives. Ensure the procurement-to-payment (P2P) cycle is executed accurately and punctually.

Must Haves: Master’s degree in Business Administration or a relevant discipline. A minimum of 10 years of advancing experience (at least 4 years managing a team of buyers) in procurement of Direct materials sourcing (food ingredients, packaging or private label products) in FMCG, retail or trading companies. Proven track record in leading the execution of Source-to-Pay (STP) processes, including sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management. Market knowledge of food ingredients, packaging materials or external manufacturers is preferred. Experience with international procurement, including knowledge of Incoterms and import/export regulations. Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas
