A well-established, privately owned Nigerian industrial manufacturing group with over 30 years of operations and a blue-chip B2B client base that includes some of the world’s largest FMCG multinationals. Operating at the intersection of precision manufacturing and supply chain, the business holds long-term, exclusive supply agreements with multinational clients that demand the highest standards of product quality, consistency, and regulatory compliance.
Role Overview
This is a senior plant leadership role with full responsibility for operations, production performance, quality delivery, and expansion execution. You will lead daily plant operations across the full processing value chain while ensuring production targets, cost efficiency, and client compliance standards are consistently met. The role also carries strong visibility at CEO level and plays a key part in scaling plant capability, improving operational discipline, and supporting long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and lead daily plant operations across the full processing value chain, from raw material intake through to finished product dispatch
- Deliver against production targets, quality standards, and cost budgets with full P&L accountability
- Implement and enforce QA/QC systems aligned to multinational client specifications and international regulatory standards
- Review production costs, variances, and wastage, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions
- Lead plant capacity expansion planning, including commissioning of new lines, shift structure optimisation, and infrastructure upgrades
- Manage capital projects end-to-end, including vendor coordination, civil and infrastructure contracts, equipment installation, and commissioning
- Coordinate with regulatory authorities to ensure all statutory approvals and compliance requirements are met
- Monitor actual spend versus budget and manage project risks and variances throughout the lifecycle
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing plant team across operations and support functions
- Set clear objectives, review team performance, and drive capability development
- Foster a culture of ownership, safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Act as the primary operational interface with multinational FMCG clients, managing audits, specifications, and service delivery expectations
- Report directly to the CEO on plant performance, financial results, and expansion progress
Your Profile
- 15+ years of experience in process manufacturing or industrial operations
- Strong background in bulk materials, minerals, chemicals, or food ingredient processing
- Proven track record leading large-scale plant operations
- Hands-on experience in continuous or high-volume production environments
- Strong exposure to plant expansion, commissioning, or capacity scaling
- Deep technical understanding of industrial processing equipment and plant operations
- Experience supplying multinational FMCG clients under strict quality and audit regimes such as ISO, HACCP, HALAL, or equivalent
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or an equivalent technical qualification
- Strong leadership capability with the ability to drive performance, discipline, and team development in a demanding manufacturing environment
