Job Description
Our Client: A diversified family-owned group based in Erbil with over 2,000 employees across trading & distribution, agri-commodities, construction, real estate, education, and consumer goods. The Group has invested in SAP as its ERP backbone, with IT teams staffed by local and expatriate professionals. However, there is a clear need to extract far greater value from the systems, drive digital transformation, and align IT as a strategic enabler of growth.
Your Role: As IT Director, you will be the architect of the Group’s digital future, ensuring that technology delivers real business value across multiple industries and geographies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maximize SAP ROI: Enhance utilization of SAP modules across all BUs; deliver real-time MIS, dashboards, and predictive analytics to support management decision-making.
- IT Strategy & Roadmap: Build a future-forward technology plan that integrates ERP, digital tools, automation, cybersecurity, and business intelligence.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with business heads (trading, construction, education, real estate) to align IT with their growth and operational needs.
- Team Leadership: Upgrade capabilities of existing IT teams (Pakistanis and locals), instill best practices, and introduce a more professional, service-oriented IT culture.
- Governance & Security: Implement strong controls, cybersecurity frameworks, and compliance protocols to protect systems and data integrity.
- Innovation & Transformation: Introduce new digital solutions (cloud, mobility, e-commerce platforms, AI-driven insights) that can improve efficiency, customer experience, and operational agility.
- Vendor & Partner Management: Manage relationships with SAP and third-party IT vendors; negotiate contracts that deliver value.
- Change Management: Educate and coach non-technical stakeholders (including family leadership) to embrace new systems and ways of working.
Your Profile:
- 15+ years in IT leadership, with at least 5 years in a Director / CIO / Group IT Head role.
- Proven ability to scale and professionalize IT in family-owned or diversified group structures in the Middle East.
- Deep expertise in SAP implementation and optimization (FI/CO, MM, SD, HR modules), including reporting and analytics integration.
- Experience in at least 2–3 industries relevant to the Group (trading/distribution, real estate, construction, education, FMCG).
- Strong record of digital transformation — moving IT from back-office support to business enabler.
- Change management skills: capable of winning trust of leadership while upgrading IT culture.
- Background managing diverse IT teams (multi-national, local + expatriate).
- Bachelor’s in IT/Engineering; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Fluent in English; Arabic exposure advantageous.
