Your Role
This is not a “watch and maintain” job. It’s a build-and-scale mandate.
We’re looking for a Head of Private Label who has actually built own-brand portfolios in markets where private label is an art form — think UK, Switzerland, Spain, US, Germany.
You’ll own the full private label lifecycle: from strategy and innovation to supplier partnerships and compliance — across multiple categories and geographies.
The goal? Transforming a GCC portfolio into a world-class, consumer-loved, margin-driving powerhouse.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect the strategy: Build the 5-year private label roadmap covering value, premium, and innovation-led ranges
- Own end-to-end product development: Market research → concept → supplier sourcing → QA → launch → performance management
- Build supplier networks: Partner with contract manufacturers across local, regional, and global markets
- Shape commercial outcomes: Collaborate with buying and merchandising teams to drive category growth, price optimization, and margin uplift
- Lead innovation: Spot consumer trends (eco-friendly, health-led, halal-compliant, premiumization) and convert them into fast-tracked launches
- Localize with precision: Adapt global best practices to regional regulatory, cultural, and taste profiles, ensuring compliance with halal and GCC quality standards
- Lead with impact: Build and mentor a cross-functional private label team across sourcing, product, QA, and marketing
Your Profile
- 15+ years of FMCG experience with 5+ years in private label leadership
- Proven exposure to global private label markets (EU/US) and adapting strategies for GCC/MEA
- Track record of building value and premium private label lines across food, beverage, personal care, and household
- Deep supplier and contract manufacturing experience, with QA and sustainability standards embedded
- Commercial P&L ownership, strong pricing/assortment acumen, and partnership with merchandising/buying
- Consumer insight-driven innovation exposure and GCC regulatory/halal compliance experience
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills across multicultural, matrixed environments
- Fluent English (Arabic a plus)
