Our client is a fast-growing FMCG organization with an expanding footprint across the Kingdom. As they accelerate their commercial presence in key regions, there is a renewed focus on strengthening the general trade engine, boosting distribution reach, sharpening execution discipline, and elevating frontline capability. This role is a pivotal hire to lead the next phase of general trade expansion across Jeddah and surrounding markets.
Your Role
As the Head of General Trade, you will take full ownership of the general trade business across the region. You will lead strategy and execution across traditional trade, wholesale, and discounters, ensuring strong commercial delivery and on-ground excellence.
Your remit spans P&L ownership, distribution expansion, route optimization, territory design, and driving numeric and weighted distribution. You will build, mentor, and scale high-performing field sales, van operations, and merchandising teams, while partnering closely with Supply Chain, Finance, and Marketing to improve forecasting, availability, and ROI.
This is a hands-on leadership role that requires both strategic depth and frontline intuition. You will reshape how general trade operates by combining data-driven decision-making with strong market relationships, execution discipline, and field intelligence.
Must-Have
- 15+ years of FMCG sales experience with strong exposure to frontline and leadership roles
- Deep understanding of Saudi Arabia’s general trade ecosystem: wholesalers, baqalas, discounters, and cash-and-carry
- Proven track record in beat plan design, territory management, merchandising, and sales force automation
- Demonstrated ability to build, develop, and scale high-performance sales teams
- Strong commercial grounding: P&L ownership, pricing management, and the ability to link volume to value creation
- Strong communication and negotiation capability; Arabic fluency preferred
- Saudi market experience is essential
