Our Client: A leading diversified company in manufacturing and distribution, operating in the FMCG sector. The organization is at a pivotal stage, focused on driving operational excellence, market leadership, and sustainable, profitable growth across its businesses.
Role Overview:
Reporting directly to the CEO, the General Manager will take full accountability for the strategy, operations, and performance of the business unit in Algeria. This critical leadership role will steer the BU through its next phase of growth and transformation, balancing commercial agility with operational discipline.
The GM will lead a large, multi-functional organization spanning manufacturing, sales, marketing, distribution, and shared services. The successful candidate will shape the business strategy, deliver strong P&L results, and build a high-performance culture aligned with group ambitions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the strategic and operational leader of BU, owning full P&L responsibility and delivering sustainable, profitable growth.
- Set and execute the BU’s strategy across manufacturing, sales, marketing, and distribution, aligned with group-level priorities.
- Act as the external face of the business in Algeria, managing key customer, government, and partner relationships with impact and credibility.
- Oversee all BU operations, ensuring world-class execution in production, quality, supply chain, RTM, and commercial delivery.
- Lead the development and execution of Annual Operating Plans, ensuring alignment between group vision and frontline execution.
- Champion innovation and NPD, driving portfolio strength in a dynamic, competitive market.
- Implement and embed best practice commercial frameworks (pricing, trade marketing, distributor management) to maximize value.
- Build, coach, and retain a high-caliber leadership team, fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, and performance.
- Drive capex and resource allocation decisions that secure future growth while controlling cost and improving operational efficiency.
- Shape and deliver transformation initiatives that reposition the BU for future competitiveness.
Your Profile:
- 15+ years of progressive experience in Food and Beverages Manufacturing, including recent leadership of multi-functional teams in complex, high-volume businesses.
- Demonstrated success in P&L leadership, ideally with direct accountability for a business of $50M+ in revenue.
- Strong commercial DNA — a proven leader in sales, marketing, and route-to-market execution.
- Track record of operating in Algeria with full in-country responsibility; deep understanding of local business environment, regulatory landscape, and cultural dynamics.
- Fluency in French and English is mandatory
- Experience in managing multi-plant manufacturing and complex distribution networks is highly desirable.
- Resilient, strategic, and hands-on — capable of leading transformation while ensuring strong day-to-day delivery.
- A credible and inspiring leader, able to engage internal teams and external stakeholders at the highest levels.
- Ready to be based in Algeria full-time, with a demonstrated commitment to local market engagement.
