Our Client
A well established and diversified conglomerate has signed an exclusive franchise and distribution agreement with a global top-tier Chinese construction machinery OEM to represent the brand across Iraq.
This is a greenfield leadership mandate, reporting directly to the Chairman, to build and scale a profitable national heavy equipment platform from the ground up.
Your Role
- Lead the full setup and activation of the construction equipment franchise operation across Iraq
- Build and execute the national market entry and growth strategy
- Establish commercial structure, operational systems, and governance frameworks
- Set up warehousing, workshop, and aftermarket infrastructure in line with OEM standards
- Hire, structure, and lead the complete commercial and technical team
- Drive new equipment sales across infrastructure, contractors, oil & gas, and industrial segments
- Build strong competitive positioning against established global players
- Own full P&L accountability: revenue, margins, EBITDA, and working capital
- Install disciplined forecasting, receivables control, and inventory planning processes
- Develop a robust aftermarket engine (parts, workshop, field service) with clear service KPIs
- Lead warranty and service governance to protect uptime and brand reputation
- Manage the OEM relationship end-to-end: forecasting, pricing alignment, reporting, compliance, and supply coordination
- Engage key stakeholders including major contractors, government entities, and strategic accounts
Must-Have
- 15+ years in construction equipment / heavy equipment industries
- Proven GM / Country Manager / Business Unit Head experience within dealer or distributor environments
- Demonstrated experience launching, building, or scaling a new equipment operation
- Clear P&L ownership and financial accountability including working capital discipline
- Strong aftermarket leadership (parts profitability, service operations, uptime focus)
- Experience operating in emerging or frontier markets with ambiguity and complexity
- Exposure to managing global OEM relationships and franchise compliance standards
- Bonus points: experience with Chinese equipment brands, Middle East exposure, national market build-outs
- Arabic is a plus, not mandatory
