Part of a renowned group they are in the startup phase of launching a new college.
Your Role
As Finance Manager, you will own the finance set-up and oversee the day-to-day financial management of the college, ensuring transparency, control, and alignment with corporate financial standards.
Working closely with the Chairman, Dean, PMO, and central finance stakeholders, you will play a pivotal role in building the financial backbone of a new higher education institution.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing the initial financial operating model and OPEX/CAPEX budgets in collaboration with the PMO and finance stakeholders
- Setting up core finance processes and controls: accounts payable/receivable, banking, petty cash, and expense management
- Implementing tuition fee and revenue processes (invoicing, collections, refunds, scholarships/discounts) aligned with regulatory and student-facing policies
- Preparing monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasts, variance analysis, and KPI reports for leadership
- Supporting the PMO on business cases for key investments (systems, facilities, new programmes)
- Coordinating with external stakeholders including auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners
- Ensuring compliance with internal financial policies, controls, and audit requirements
- Providing financial input into regulatory submissions and reporting (fees, sustainability, resource planning)
- Supporting gradual integration into wider corporate finance frameworks and consolidated reporting
This is an opportunity to build and shape the finance function from the ground up in a start-up education environment.
Must-Have
- 7–12 years of financial management experience; exposure to the education sector is preferred
- Professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent
- Strong management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial control expertise
- Comfortable operating in an early-stage, build-phase environment
- Able to communicate financial insights clearly to non-finance stakeholders
