Job Description
Our Client: A diversified family-owned group headquartered in Erbil with over 2,000 employees across trading & distribution, agri-commodities, real estate, construction, education, and consumer goods. The Group is entering a transformation phase, balancing its strong legacy with the need for institutional-grade governance, financial discipline, and future-forward systems. SAP has been implemented across business units, each with its own finance managers and accountants.
Your Role: As CFO, you will report directly to the Chairman and serve as the financial architect of the Group’s next chapter. This is both a transformation and a leadership mandate:
Key Responsibilities:
- Modernize finance practices by moving from family-led, relationship-driven processes into transparent, globally aligned governance
- Consolidate group-level reporting across all business units, leveraging SAP to create dashboards, MIS, and predictive financial models.
- Centralize treasury and cash management, optimize working capital, and implement debt/equity strategies that support ambitious expansion.
- Strengthen governance and compliance, introducing risk management frameworks, audit readiness, and control processes across trading, real estate, construction, and education arms.
- Develop people capability, mentoring BU finance managers and accountants into a professionalized cadre of controllers and FP&A leaders.
- Partner with the Chairman, balancing respect for legacy and tradition with the push for transformation. Diplomacy, resilience, and trust-building are critical.
- Future-proof finance by embedding FP&A, scenario planning, and performance management as decision-making tools for the Group.
Your Profile:
- 20+ years of progressive finance leadership, with at least 5 years in a Group CFO / Finance Director role.
- Proven experience in family-led conglomerates in the Middle East; Jordanian nationals strongly preferred for cultural alignment and trust.
- Multi-industry exposure from at least 2–3 sectors relevant to the Group (e.g., trading/distribution, real estate, construction, education, consumer goods).
- Mandatory agri/commodities finance experience, with exposure to procurement, trading flows, and commodity risk management.
- Strong record in finance transformation: building group-level consolidation, leveraging SAP/ERP systems, and introducing governance/compliance frameworks.
- Treasury and cash flow management expertise, with ability to optimize debt/equity structures and bank relations.
- Balanced profile: both hands-on operator in complex, emerging market environments and strategic leader who can engage with the Chairman/family at board level.
- Arabic exposure advantageous; fluency in English required.
