Role Overview
As Head of Commercial, you will lead the overall commercial performance of the business, taking ownership of revenue growth, profitability, customer strategy, operational execution, and organizational capability.
Working closely with senior leadership, you will oversee multiple business functions including Sales, Parts, Aftermarket, Service, and Commercial Operations, ensuring every department works together towards common business objectives. Beyond delivering commercial results, you will play a key role in building the leadership team, developing future talent, improving operational effectiveness, and creating a customer-focused organization capable of sustainable growth.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys building businesses, leading people, and influencing strategy as much as delivering commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the overall commercial performance of the business, delivering sustainable revenue growth, profitability, and market expansion.
- Develop and execute the business strategy, translating commercial objectives into clear operational plans across all customer-facing functions.
- Lead and mentor department heads across Sales, Parts, Service, and Commercial Operations, creating alignment, accountability, and high performance.
- Build and develop a strong leadership team, identifying capability gaps and strengthening the organization for future growth.
- Drive business planning, forecasting, budgeting, and performance reviews, ensuring commercial decisions are supported by sound financial and operational insight.
- Expand relationships with major contractors, government entities, industrial customers, rental companies, and strategic accounts across Iraq.
- Personally lead high-value commercial negotiations and key customer engagements.
- Ensure collaboration between Sales, Parts, Service, Supply Chain, and Operations to deliver an outstanding customer experience throughout the equipment lifecycle.
- Improve operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, inventory planning, and aftermarket performance to maximize long-term profitability.
- Identify new market opportunities, product expansion initiatives, and strategic partnerships that support business growth.
- Represent the organization with principals, customers, industry stakeholders, and government authorities as the senior commercial leader.
Must-Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of leadership experience within heavy equipment, construction equipment, commercial vehicles, mining equipment, industrial machinery, or a related industry.
- Demonstrated success leading an entire commercial business not only sales including cross-functional teams and business operations.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen with experience managing business performance, budgets, profitability, and strategic planning.
- Proven ability to build, lead, and develop leadership teams while creating a high-performance culture.
- Experience working closely with Parts, Service, and Aftermarket functions to drive overall business success.
- Excellent customer relationship management, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong strategic thinking balanced with a hands-on leadership style.
- Fluency in English is essential. Arabic and/or Kurdish would be an advantage.
- Willingness to travel across Iraq as required.
