Our Client

A growing international FMCG food business is expanding its footprint in the United Kingdom market and is looking for a commercially driven sales leader to accelerate growth. The business operates across retail, wholesale, e-commerce, and foodservice channels, with a strong focus on market expansion, distributor partnerships, and brand visibility.

Your Role

As Head of Sales – UK, you will lead the commercial strategy and sales operations for the market, with full ownership of revenue growth, distributor management, and channel expansion. You will drive route-to-market effectiveness, strengthen customer relationships, and improve overall market penetration across key channels. The eternal corporate quest: make products appear in more stores faster than competitors can discount theirs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead overall sales operations in the UK market and deliver targets across revenue, volume, profitability, and market share
  • Develop and execute commercial and route-to-market strategies across retail, wholesale, e-commerce, and B2B channels
  • Appoint, manage, and grow distributor networks while improving product availability and execution standards
  • Drive new product launches, promotional activities, pricing alignment, and in-store visibility across channels
  • Coordinate with supply chain and demand planning teams to ensure efficient forecasting, inventory flow, and distribution operations
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, pricing structures, and customer dynamics to identify growth opportunities
  • Lead trade negotiations with distributors and key accounts including rebates, promotions, pricing agreements, and commercial terms
  • Build strong relationships with retailers, distributors, and trade partners while supporting and training distributor sales teams

Must-Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
  • Minimum 12+ years of experience in FMCG sales, export sales, or general trade leadership roles
  • Strong experience within the UK FMCG market is mandatory
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales and business growth targets
  • Experience managing distributors and key retail accounts across multiple channels
  • Strong understanding of modern trade, wholesale, ethnic trade, and e-commerce environments
  • Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation and relationship management skills
  • Experience in trade marketing, pricing strategy, and route-to-market execution
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and growth-focused business environment
  • Strong analytical, forecasting, and business planning capabilities
