Job Description
Our Client: A diversified family-owned group in Iraq with over 2,000 employees across trading & distribution, agri-commodities, consumer goods, construction, real estate, and education. The Group holds exclusive distribution rights for leading international brands while also developing its own large-scale projects in real estate and education. As the Group scales, it requires a visionary marketing leader to build brand equity, drive innovation, and place the Group firmly on Iraq’s business and consumer map.
Your Role:
As Group Marketing Director, you will shape the overall brand identity, communication, and innovation agenda for a multi-sector portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Group Brand Leadership: Build a unified marketing strategy that positions the Group and its diverse entities as trusted, innovative, and future-forward in Iraq.
- FMCG Brand Building: Lead campaigns for consumer-facing categories (FMCG, food, retail) — driving awareness, preference, and consumer loyalty.
- Innovation Agenda: Introduce new products, formats, and campaigns that resonate with Iraq’s evolving consumer base.
- Corporate Communications: Manage PR, media relations, and corporate reputation, highlighting the Group’s contributions to food security, education, and development.
- Digital & Traditional Marketing: Build omni-channel strategies (digital, trade, in-store, events, sponsorships) to maximize impact.
- Entity-Level Integration: Partner with BU heads to create cohesive, market-aligned campaigns for trading, education, and real estate.
- Team Development: Mentor a team of marketers, creatives, and agencies to professionalize marketing capabilities across the Group.
- Stakeholder Management: Balance family leadership vision with the need to build professional marketing systems and metrics.
Your Profile:
- 20+ years of marketing leadership experience, ideally in FMCG, with a proven record of brand building, innovation, and market entry campaigns.
- Multi-industry exposure: FMCG plus at least one other sector (education, real estate, consumer services).
- Regional experience in the Middle East, with preference for Jordanian nationals.
- Strong knowledge of consumer insights, brand strategy, media planning, and innovation processes.
- Track record of launching and scaling brands in competitive, developing markets.
- Ability to build corporate identity and manage a multi-entity brand portfolio.
- Digital marketing fluency: social media, content, influencer marketing, and analytics.
- Strong leadership and influencing skills — must balance entrepreneurial energy with family-group sensitivities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Business; MBA preferred.
- Fluent in English and Arabic.
