Our Client: Our client is a large group of companies in varied businesses based out of Africa. They have a presence in 70+ countries and within Africa, they’re present in 48 countries. They have businesses in trading. Travel, manufacturing etc.
In the last 3 years, they’ve been coming up with a state of the art ecommerce marketplace that is incrementally becoming a household name in Kenya. They have ambitious plans of building it big and taking it to other countries and geographies.
Your Role: As Head of Ecommerce, your role will be to head the new business end to end. You will have complete P&L ownership of the business from an operations and commercial point of view. You will do exciting work in terms of improving the accessibility of the brand and work on bettering the operational excellence of the business.
Top line and bottom line responsibility is key in the position and they expect the position to be able to make profitable decisions for the business. You will have the whole workforce of the business reporting into you and you will report directly to the CEO of the conglomerate.
Must Haves: The ideal candidate must be an overall leader of an Ecommerce business with good understanding of all aspects of a marketplace model. They should possess knowledge and practical implementation skills in various digital marketing concepts such as PPC, SEO, social media, display, and affiliate channels. They should be confident in developing and overseeing retail and eCommerce-focused digital marketing strategies. Strong understanding of UX, web design, customer flow, web analysis, and proficiency in traffic analysis, reporting tools, and optimization is required. Knowledge in attribution modeling, A/B testing, conversion management, and excellent communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills are important. A bachelor’s degree in Digital Marketing or a related field is required, with preference given to candidates with an IT degree and an MBA in Marketing.
