A passion for sustainability
Degree in Engineering, preferably an advanced degree in sustainability or environmental management.
15+ years of quality experience, of which at least 5+ years should have been in the food manufacturing business.
You are part of the sustainability and ESG networks
You have experience in establishing strategic frameworks and taking it through to implementation.
Solid understanding of employee welfare initiatives, including diversity and inclusion, well-being programs, and work-life balance.
Strong knowledge of environmental and social sustainability principles, standards, and best practices
Expertise in energy management, waste management, circular economy, and water conservation practices
Must Haves: 16+ years of relevant business experience. Strong experience in analytics and working on finance projects. Experience in the relevant Sector (fmcg, retail, consumer goods), supermarket chain preferred. Arabic and English language is mandatory.
Your role: Lead developing and implementing a comprehensive sustainability strategy aligned with the company’s goals and values. Align the sustainability strategy and oversee programs related to energy management, water conservation, waste management, circular economy initiatives, employee welfare, and governance framework. Oversee and manage programs related to energy management, including identifying opportunities for energy efficiency, renewable energy adoption, and carbon footprint reduction. Develop and implement initiatives for water conservation, ensuring responsible water usage practices across all business operations. Lead waste management programs, focusing on waste reduction, recycling, and promoting circular economy principles within the organization and supply chain. Develop and implement employee welfare programs, promoting a culture of well-being, diversity and inclusion, and work-life balance.
Establish and maintain a robust governance framework to ensure compliance with sustainability regulations, standards, and reporting requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability considerations into product design, development, and life cycle assessments. Drive stakeholder engagement initiatives to promote sustainability partnerships with suppliers, customers, NGOs, and industry associations. Oversee the assessment and reporting of sustainability metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and drive continuous improvement. Stay up to date with emerging trends, regulations, and innovations in sustainability, and translate them into actionable strategies and initiatives.
