Our client–A regional conglomerate in the FMCG industry, is seeking a seasoned professional to join their team.
The role: You will be responsible for driving commercial success, while also playing a pivotal role in building and enhancing brand equity. This critical leadership role requires a strategic thinker who can develop and execute comprehensive commercialization strategies, spearhead innovation initiatives, and craft effective sales strategies for various distribution channels, all while ensuring the strength and growth of the brands.
You will be responsible for driving the Marketing and sales agenda of the organization. As a critical leadership team member, you must prepare Strategic and operating plans to build the business, expand across categories and channels, build brand strength and lead commercialization strategies. You are expected to bring strategic rigour to Sales planning, build Channel and Category strategies as well as monitor execution. You are expected to develop business plans for the commercialization of new products, expand the geographic footprint and evaluate future business models. You will be required to Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue and market share targets, considering how each strategy reinforces our brand’s identity. Analyse and segment target markets, identifying the most effective sales channels for different product lines while maintaining brand consistency. You will lead Sales and Marketing teams to optimize distribution channels and promotional efforts that enhance brand visibility and equity. Establish strong relationships with key retail partners and distributors, ensuring they understand and uphold our brand values. As a custodian of the Brand and Product development agenda, you must have exposure to sophisticated consumer and brand-building activities in your prior roles. You must have a flair for working with insights, product development /stage gate processes and ownership of innovation agenda. You must build a market research agenda to identify new opportunities, customer needs, competitors, and industry trends. Creating and executing marketing plans and campaigns for the company’s products, using various channels such as digital, social media, print, TV, radio, etc. You will need to drive the strategic agenda and Manage the sales leadership team to ensure they achieve targets. You must Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, distributors, retailers, and other partners. Monitoring and evaluating the performance of commercial activities using key metrics and reports. You will also lead all future growth opportunities and identify new market opportunities and product extensions that not only drive revenue growth but also strengthen brand equity. Identify and evaluate potential partnerships, acquisitions, or technologies to enhance our product portfolio and brand positioning. Ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards and regulations. Build and lead a high-performing commercial team, providing mentorship and guidance, emphasising brand alignment in their efforts. Set clear performance objectives and KPIs, regularly evaluating team members’ performance. Foster a collaborative and results-driven work environment where brand development is a shared goal. Develop and manage the commercial budget, ensuring effective resource allocation that supports both commercialization and brand-building efforts. Monitor financial performance against targets and take corrective actions as necessary.
Must have : Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.. 15+ years of experience in consumer goods, with a track record of success in commercial leadership roles. Strong knowledge of consumer trends, market dynamics, and distribution channels, with a demonstrated focus on brand-building. Proven ability to drive innovation and product development that reinforces brand identity. Exceptional strategic planning and analytical skills. Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities. Demonstrated experience in managing and developing high-performance teams. Results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving and exceeding targets, including those related to brand equity. Current or prior experience in Saudi would be preferred.
