Dr. Jayashree started her foray in to the business world in 1993 as an applied researcher for the Indian Oil Group of Companies. Indian Oil Corporation is the largest Petroleum refining Co. and the first Fortune 500 company in India.
Indian Oil with seven Refineries with a capacity of 36 million tons p.a and an all India marketing network has a total employee strength of around 35,000.In Indian Oil, Jayashree did a five-year longitudinal research on ‘Employees’ integration into organization from a macro-micro perspective’.
The study besides offering tremendous insight into organizational dynamics, especially with regards to ‘Organizational Socialization’ also enabled Jayashree to receive a PhD degree in ‘Organizational Behavior’ from Delhi University, one of the premier universities in India. Jayashree is also a recipient of the Junior and Senior Research Fellowship awarded by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi.
In a career spanning, up to 7 years, Dr. Jayashree has been an academician, researcher and a corporate trainer.
She has taught in some of the premier management institutes in Mumbai, India and her areas of interest include Organizational Behavior, Human Relations, Applied Psychology and Human Resource Management. Since 15 th September 2002, Jayashree is full-time faculty in the Business Department at the American College of Dubai, Dubai.
Dr. Jayashree’s strengths include not only her academic insight but also her ability to enable her students of varying intellectual capacities to achieve their maximum potential by using non-traditional teaching methods along with the traditional ones.
Over a period of time, Jayashree has developed competencies in teaching using experiential techniques such as management games, simulation exercises, case studies, and role-plays etcetera.
For the last two years, Jayashree in addition to her regular academic responsibilities is also the Training and Development In-charge, at the American College of Dubai, Dubai. In this role Jayashree’s primary responsibilities include coordinating all aspects of staff training and development, assist deans, lead instructors and faculty with all
training and development related processes, prepare annual collective and individual training plans, provide institutional effectiveness inputs as regards training and development and ensure that all training/development related documentation is maintained in an updated fashion. Dr. Jayashree is also involved in conducting training workshops for academicians to enhance their skills in imparting education. Jayashree is also a ‘Corporate Trainer’ since June 2005 and has in a short span of time received tremendous acceptance and appreciation from her participants and clients. She is now a much sought after trainer especially in the area of ‘Behavioral training’ which includes Interpersonal Skills, Supervisory Development, Personality Development, Motivation, Leadership Development, Team-Building, Conflict Resolution, Communication Skills, Time Management, Problem-solving and Decision making. Jayashree is a regular faculty for the in-house programs for the ETA-ASCON group, ETA - ASCON Group is a multi-dimensional organization established in 1973 as a joint venture with the Al Ghurair Group and has achieved continued growth and success in wide range of businesses in construction, shipping and retailing. Headquartered in Dubai, the Group has a network of 23 branch and associate offices across the world and Dr. Jayashree conducts workshops for a wide spectrum of employees at ETA on an on-going basis. Jayashree has also recently completed a very successful, supervisory development program for Kromberg & Schubert , a 100-year-old German multinational company at Jebel Ali Free Zone that manufactures cable harnesses for the automotive industry. Jayashree is currently involved in several training assignments with organizations based in U.A.E, besides being involved in other academic activities.
